Abstract:

title: Smart Fire Protection that keeps your Industry Producing

We will present a way to increase safety against fires and avoid high costs with production stoppage and damage to your plant, with a unique fire prevention and protection system.  We’ll show how hundreds of plants are using the high technology of the Firefly system in key points of the production process, including tissue machines, conversion lines, dust extraction and storage areas. The idea is to detect spars, hot particles or small flames and extinguish it before it turns into a fire. If you are interested in keep production and avoid costs related with fires, our presentation will be very interesting for you. See you there. Thanks!!

Claus Robberts, was born in 1971 in the southern city of Maastricht in the Netherlands, close to the Belgian, French and German border. Robberts is founder and owner of ProJet b.v., studied Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Delft, the Netherlands, and later Precision Engineering at the Technical University of Eindhoven, the Netherlands. After a short period of 3 years working as a Technical Engineer for a company supplying to the Paper Industry, Robberts founded ProJet b.v. in 1998. ProJet is now considered to be the worldwide market leader in High pressure water jet solutions for cleaning and cutting to the pulp and paper, fiberboard, non-wovens, composite- and wood-panel, and various other industries. Over the years, Robberts published several articles in multiple magazines for the Pulp- and Paper Industry as well as Nonwovens Magazines regarding conveyor belt cleaning and sheet cutting applications with high pressure water jets. Robberts has given several guest lectures to students at the University of Eindhoven on high pressure systems and applications for continuous production processes.

Abstract:

title: ProJet Tail & Edge Cutting Solutions

Paper Machines that have a lot of Deckle and Grade changes often face lost production time between production runs. Most of the lost time occurs because the Tail Cutter and Trim Squirts need to change parameters and settings for the new production run. ProJet has invented the fully automatic “Tail & Deckle Cutter”, a dual Tail Cutter that functions as a Tail Cutter while threading the paper machine and functions as Trim Squirts during full production. The ProJet Tail & Deckle Cutter is successfully installed at almost 250 paper machines around the world and is applicable to all kinds of paper grades: from Tissue to Heavy Weight Board. In this presentation, ProJet will show how much lost production time can be reduced and how fast the ROI of the ProJet Tail & Deckle Cutter can be.

Carlos Muriel

PASABAN

Bio:

Carlos Muriel started in the Pulp and Paper industry in 1991, joining PASABAN, a manufacturer of finishing equipment with a great international reputation and international operations. He has spent his 30 years occupying different positions of responsibility and working both in the technical field as a start-up electronic engineer and in the commercial field, occupying positions as Area Manager in different countries and, today, in the position of Sales & Marketing Director in PASABAN.

This trajectory has provided Carlos with an exceptional background to have a great knowledge of the product, learn from the needs of the markets and their evolution in these 3 decades and commercialize equipment and take part in a multitude of projects of greater or lesser complexity sharing experiences and always enjoying interaction with customers in order to help them improve their competitive position. Always providing and suggesting the best professional solutions based on their needs and learning from them, their concerns, their successes and their previous experiences and guiding them and proposing top quality solutions / equipment that guarantee their operation for many years.

Abstract:

The importance of the slitting process in paper/board converting and the new challenges.

The application of technological aspects of software combined with advanced hardware brings advantages that help the operator in a more user-friendly operation. In the past, the personal touch and skill of the operator was crucial in the cutting process (sheeters), and even with the same machine and the same paper, there could be significant differences in production because of the settings and final fine adjustments.

With this in mind, Pasaban has developed concepts that make it possible to store these settings in the HMI and reproduce them with the exact (ideal) values the next time the same substrate and format are processed.

This is a big step that will undoubtedly benefit the cutting process, which has always been a complex process, despite the simplicity of the concept itself".
